Julia Roberts is making a new movie in Bali. The locals are praying Roberts will be their lucky charm. Local workers in Bali are praying Julia Roberts will bring them good luck.
One worker said: "I hope the film-shooting will bring good fortune, and that more people come here to buy. Is Julia Roberts Bali's good luck charm?
The Academy Award winner is filming part of her new film in the market town, Ubud, Bali. A local production company in Bali’s capital Denpasar reportedly held a casting session to pick about 100 local actors for the movie, which lasted two days. Shooting will be held in Kuta, Ubud, Banjar Bentuyung, Uluwtu, etc., places in Bali from October 15 to November 11, 2009. Bali is a truly paradise.

The actress, 41, is starring in upcoming movie Eat, Pray, Love with Javier Bardem. Based on Pushcart Prize winner Elizabeth Gilbert’s spirituality/travel memoir (played by Roberts), “Eat, Pray, Love” is about her self-discovery and soul-searching after her nasty divorce, exploring through India, Italy, and Bali.
The story is about the divorcee spent a year travelling and battling deep depression on what became a journey of self-discovery. After revelling in cuisine in Italy and exploring spirituality in India ashram (hermitage), she will find a balance between worldly pleasures and divine ascendancy in Bali where she will study with a ninth-generation medicine man and immerse in a love affair.

Aimed at a release in 2011 and directed by Ryan Murphy (Nip/Tuck); “Eat, Pray, Love” also stars Javier Bardem (No Country for Old Men), Richard Jenkins (The Visitor), Viola Davis (Doubt), Billy Crudup (Almost Famous), James Franco (Pineapple Express), Luca Argentero (Lezioni di cioccolato), etc.

 Bali has many fantastic places for photo and movie locations. Bali is unique because of the landscape, friendly people, art and culture. We hope that another movie will be shoot in Bali such as James Bond or do you have plan to make a romantic movie in Bali?

You must go to Bali to learn and feel a real Bali. One of the Balinese arts is Pendet Dance. Traditional Balinese dances are the oldest form of performing arts in Bali. Traditional dances can be divided into two types, sacred dance called Wali and entertainment dance called Bebalihan. Tari Pendet or Pendet dance is the presentation of an offering in the form of a ritual d ance. Unlike the exhibition dances that demand arduous training, Pendet may be danced by everyone: male and female pemangkus, women and girls of the village. It is taught simply by imitation and is seldom practiced in the banjars. Younger girls follow the movements of the elder women who recognize their responsibility in setting a good example. As a religious dance, Pendet is usually performed during temple ceremonies.
